In an interview with the Exputer Portal, Rich Barham – the screenwriter, the author of the idea and director of the Igi Origins game – revealed some information about the allegedly canceled project and his unsuccessful attempt to purchase the rights to him after the studio Antimatter Games – developer Igi Origins. According to Berham, if no one creates a new studio that will buy IP, then it does not expect the further development of the game.
After the closing of the IP studio, it goes into the ownership of the EG7, and I have no longer the slightest attitude to the game. My attempt to buy a code base and IP was rejected EG7.
For the uninitiated under the code base, this context is understood as the source code used to create IGI Origins. Despite the failure of the acquisition of rights, the march is still interested in negotiations with those who may be ready to support the creation of a new studio for buying IP.
If someone has significant support for the reconstruction of the new studio in order to acquire rights, I will be glad to chat with those who are interested in this. Otherwise, I do not expect the further development of the game.
Antimatter Games was recently closed by the Maternal company Enad Global 7. Despite "Study of various strategic options" Studio preservation, EG7 could not find "sufficient dynamics in the deadlines intended by the group". These strategic options included the transfer of the team from Truro to the model of employment work, the sale of a studio or the search for an third -party publisher for IGI Origins, which was developed by Antimatter Games.
Given the absence of statements on this project and the decision of EG7 "limit further investment and move towards the closure of the studio", It is safe to say that the IGI Origins is canceled or, at least, is in frost. Unwillingness EG7 to sell IP may indicate some plans for the future in relation to this project. It is also possible that the company has not yet found an attractive offer.
