Cyberpunk 2077 is already experiencing a powerful revival in Steam due to the joint exit of update 2.0 and extensions Phantom Liberty from CD Projekt Red. So, the simultaneous number of players in the night city has become the highest over the past three years, while Cyberpunk is now playing three times more players than in Starfield.

The resumption of success of Cyberpunk 2077, frankly, should not surprise: the game quickly took off up the list of the best -selling in Steam, and DLC Phantom Liberty received incredibly high scores. Currently, when CDPR is moving to its next projects, a role -playing game is experiencing some Renaissance.

For comparison, Starfield came out at the beginning of the month, and although it was the largest launch of Bethesda, he did not receive completely favorable reviews of critics. Given that the game is available through Game Pass, then the indicators in Steam are becoming more understandable. Nevertheless, the Renaissance of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Starfield output occurred at the same time, and the first business in Steam is now three times better. These numbers do not lie. About 176 thousand people play Cyberpunk 2077, and 59 thousand in Starfield – 59 thousand.

On Tuesday, September 26, the number of players in Cyberpunk was 246,754. And although this is much less than the peak reached in December 2020, namely, more than 1 million players, by 2021 this indicator quickly decreased to 200,000. That is, according to Steamdb, the current peak from the moment of launch 2.0 and Phantom Liberty has become the biggest for the game since its release three years ago.

During the ongoing sales of Cyberpunk 2077 in the Steam service, the number of players has already increased by five times. Over the past three years, the game struck a mark of 50 thousand simultaneous players with difficulty. It is quite normal that the number of simultaneous players in games, especially in single ones, decreases, but the recent success of Baldur’s Gate 3 in Steam proved that this is not always the case.

Perhaps soon we will become eyewitnesses to the full revival of Cyberpunk 2077, but how it will be – time will tell.
